Hanbury Wood Blipmeet
Firstly, thanks to everyone who left nice comments, stars, and hearts on yesterday's Glasswing, which has made it to the top row of pops today - I'm delighted that so many people liked it.
Secondly, my apologies that I'm not posting this week's Mono Monday results in this blip - the day has somehow run away from me, but I will try my best to judge your entries tomorrow.
This morning I took a very enjoyable walk around Hanbury Wood, in the company of Technophobe, hildasrose and Mr hildasrose, tedwin, and redilady - we had a very pleasant time strolling and chatting, and as ever, it's interesting to see everyone's different takes on the same scene. I'd never been to this small but ancient beech wood before, but after realising that it's in the care of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust I looked it up and discovered that it contains some of the oldest trees in the county, as well as being an important haven for wildlife. There's some information about it here.
I dithered for quite a while between two photos that I like equally in different ways; in the end I went for this one because it's the more autumnal of the two and because I absolutely love this veteran beech tree, but I've put the other, much brighter image on my Facebook page, if you'd care to take a look. Also on Facebook, I've posted a few blipper shots in Blipfoto Friends.
