Restoration

Yesterday I took one photo, which was my blip. I had noticed that slightly downhill from the apartment was a chimney on an old (for NZ) house with "scaffolding around it.

This afternoon, I saw that a workman was doing something to the chimney. It looks to me as if he is putting in new mortar between the bricks, as a restoration project. Years ago now, when we still had the old villa, one of the chimneys in that house was found to have lost a lot of the mortar and a couple of the rafters beside the chimney were badly charred. We must have been so close to having a chimney fire, without knowing we even had a problem.
