A misty start

This morning began misty and damp but by the time that we had serviced the van and left the campsite, the sun was coming through. A few kilometres down the road and we were back on the levee and back  in the mist.

Our intended stop was at Montsoreau, where we were going to lunch at a troglodytic mushroom farm. However, not only was last night's meal still too fresh in our minds but also it turned out that Montsoreau is not very motorhome friendly. The previously existing aire now has a no overnight parking sign and the rest of the village sports "Interdite" signs everywhere.

We took a short walk with the camera, bought bread and pastries and then hightailed it out to somewhere more accommodating. We are now on an aire in Villandry.

Too much sun thwarted our intended visit to the chateau gardens but perhaps tomorrow will dawn cool and misty again and it will be safe to leave Nell alone in the van whilst we go and play in the maze..
