Soaking
The fruit for the Christmas Cake in my Asbach Brandy, or what remains of it.
There was a time, maybe a couple of years ago, when Joshua and I had so much fruit cake we nearly couldn’t eat it all.
Clare thought the cake was too moist and undercooked, twice, so we had three cakes before a ‘master’ baker informed her that fruit cakes were supposed to be moist.
