Fat lip
So, my husband summed it up nicely, a call to the office at 9.05 is either going to be bad news, or to tell him he has forgotten something. Today it was to let him know we were off to A & E - and could he find the postcode for me please...
After pondering over breakfast of 'what to do for the morning, I decided to take them up to Belton and have a run around on such a lovely day. Proceeded to get everything packed, including a flask of hot chocolate. Just before leaving, the eldest needed his nappy changing, so mid-way this not very nice, but essential task, the youngest climbed onto a chair and fell off. Lots and lots of blood, screaming child and a precarious position with the nappy for the eldest. After cleaning up both, one a lot better than the other, we arrived at A & E covered in blood with the skin connecting the lip and gum torn. Ouch. I felt a little decadent when I cracked out my hot chocolate in the waiting room, from the bag already packed for our morning out. They were on the bring of sending us to another hospital to get it stitched, but in the end sent us home.
After the excitement of the morning, I took advantage of both the boys having a sleep and stole a few minutes asleep on the sofa, went upstairs when the eldest woke, dragged him into bed with me and we all slept until 3.30, I think we had over two hours fast asleep. It was wonderful. We did head out late afternoon to get a bit of fresh air after our somewhat topsy turvey day.
Youngest is all fine now, and hasn't learnt anything, still climbing on anything and everything.
