Not sunshine all the way
Here we have Motte and Bailey, the well known comedy duo. Ok, no fooling you. Welcome to Berkhamsted and the remains of the Norman Castle.
The day started quite well, I got to the park and ride and caught the bus towards MK railway station. Having arrived in the centre the driver advised me he was no longer going to the station as he was running late and I’d have to get off and catch any bus. Fortunately I only had a couple of minutes to wait.
A call from Hildasrose told me she was having worse problems with the trains from Birmingham and it was several trains later when she arrived in MK. So instead of me getting on we had to head to another platform to wait half an hour for a slow train to Berkhamsted.
Chantler63 met us off the train and we headed to see if William the Conquerer was accepting visitors at the castle, but it seems he was off doing what conquerors do, so Wetherspoon’s it was.
Lunch ordered via App (what’s wrong with walking to the bar) and holiday planning progressed, somewhat unsuccessfully due to Hildasrose being out of the country more than in, but some dates to mull over.
A walk followed by afternoon tea and cake, of course, and back to the station for the same issues in reverse. Rose had to stand most of the way back to Birmingham and I had to wait nearly an hour for a bus that’s supposed to run every fifteen minutes.
Good to catch up with the girls.
