Three bridges
We left Glenfarg reluctantly after ten this morning, and headed south for the new Queensferry Crossing. The new bridge if nothing short of fantastic (though the speed limits of 40 on the approach are a pain) but I've chosen to show this side-shot, which shows the old bridge (same age as me) and the rail bridge, glimpsed through the railings of the new bridge. I was shooting straight into the sun.
The sun followed us all the way down. We took the A68, the scenic route, but stayed on it all the way to Darlington. We were trying to avoid the hold ups on the M5 by taking the M1 and M42 then joining the M5 further down, but the M1 had problems of its own. Nonetheless, we had a good run and were home by just after eight. I shall sleep well tonight after my fabulous holiday.
Oh, and we've gone off Jedburgh. The fabulous toilets, which are used by all the coach parties and always used to be free, now cost 30p. No change given. You pays your money...
