The Butcher's Shop

This building just down the street operated as a shop until 1996 and since then has been a domestic dwelling. it has not been a pretty fixture on the street scene during our time in the village, but a young couple snapped it up several years ago and slowly, slowly, it is taking on a while new appearance. This week they removed the ugly corrugated roof and revealed the remnants of a much earlier thatch. I can't imagine how old it must be!
