Lily of the Incas

Shelley came back with some flowers after an expedition to the local farm shop, and arranged them with the stalks quite short and they look lovely.

Showing my ignorance, I asked their name and they are Alstroemeria, with common names of Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas.  Those sound far grander than Alstroemeria and not common at all!
