Ice Ice Baby...
Early rise this morning to get on our way to Carlisle.
Alan had been invited to meet up with his friend Rachel to go wheelchair ice skating this afternoon. Updated his support worker Kirsten when she arrived. The last time they went they weren't able to get on the ice as there were too many people on (don't get me started) so I was hoping the same thing wouldn't happen again. Thankfully they did get on the ice today.
Kirsten texted me these photos and they made me laugh. Looking at Rachel's expression it would seem Alan has done something shocking. In the second one she's clearly looking at him in disbelief and things it's hilarious! Whatever it is! :-))
Adrian came up to look after Lola for the day. She was very pleased to see him and didn't bat an eyelid as we left. The roads were quiet so we were in Carlisle in two hours. I sat and had a very lovely coffee and read some magazines while David did the boring bit. Soon it was time to head home again.
I felt a bit sad to be leaving the rather lovely A5 coupe. Only had it four months (a short lived midlife crisis ;-)) but I have to say I love the new car. More practical, more comfortable, more powerful, more us.
Stopped at the Green's at Gretna hotel (Scotland's first hotel apparently, well first over the border) for lunch. It was ok. Enjoyed the rest of the journey home. When I say enjoyed, that means slept. Such a comfy car :-))
Home to find Alan full of the joys from his wheelchair ice skating afternoon. Adrian was also in fine spirits if a tad tired. He enjoyed his day with Lola but had forgotten how tiring having a puppy is. Lola was very pleased to see us. Such a lovely welcome.
This evening involved nothing more energetic than watching Strictly and fish suppers for tea. Lovely end to the day.
Must remember the clocks go back tonight. This is going to mess up our morning routine with Lola as I doubt she's going to sleep an hour longer. So, fluffy golden alarm call circa 6.30 then! :-/
