2017 Wednesday -- Veteran's Resource Center
Today at 3:30 the college where I teach unveiled the plans for the future home of the Veteran's Resource Center. Our campus is located next door to a U.S. Navy Base in Norco, the Naval Sea Systems Command: The Force Behind the Fleet. So working with them and with veterans seems to be natural.
One of their slogans is:
"Enabling war fighters to train, fight and win by using measurement, analysis, and independent assessment."
Below is the sentiment that our college president expressed when it was over.

Dear Norco College Family,
I want to thank everyone who participated and helped organize the project unveiling. I was pleased with the way the college was represented and received many compliments from our guests. We had over 150 guests in attendance and could not have pulled it off without the support of all. It definitely was a special day for the college and our student veterans. I am overwhelmed with emotion to witness the excitement and support of our staff, faculty, community members and leaders that want to help our student veterans transition from boots to books. The State Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley, Assembly speaker Anthony Rendon, and Assemblywoman Sabrina Cervantes were all present and supportive of the Veterans Resource Center.
