The father of devolution?
Donald Dewar was the Scottish Labour Party leader who presided over the opening of the Scottish Parliament in 1999.
He was a pretty severe man as you can tell by his statue outside Glasgow's Concert Hall. He was also, by all accounts, a big lover of classical music and a bit of an intellectual.
I interviewed him a few times and he spoke so quickly that getting his comments down in shorthand was next to impossible - and I thought I was fast.
