The Monster Of The Desert

Just as I did yesterday, I promised a year ago to post a picture of the new growth of one of my more unusual cacti.

I'd say it has grown about three inches taller since last year.  Check out its other differences.

Cereus Monstrose, or Monster cactus are fascinating freaks of nature. Normal plants usually grow from a single point at the tip of the stem. These cacti grow from random points and usually produce plants that are asymmetrical and covered in knobby bumps. These plants can be strangely beautiful.  

It's going to be a night bloomer.  I'll have to do a little research on when it will be ready to bloom
