One step beyond

OK, so it was only 15 stone steps and a relatively smooth beach, but making my way down to the shore of Ullswater and sitting on a rock as sparkling waves lapped underneath an azure sky was a wonderful step forward today, especially for my soul and even more so after yesterday's horrid weather.

I could tell I was quite chilled and peaceful as I didn't even let an unpleasant encounter with an obnoxious driver rile me, despite his need to park diagonally across 3 spaces and rev his engine in this beautiful spot. You can picture the type in his open top sports car, driving gloves and cravat. Cravat incidentally rhymes with one of the words I may have used when he brayed at me that Prince (a good 3ft away) was in his way.
