Conservation in action

I had a lovely day today meeting up with my good friends C and L at Anglesey Abbey. I hadn't seen C for over a year, so there was a lot to catch up to do. The house had some of its routine conservation work being undertaken as in the picture. There were also two ladies cleaning the books in the library, evidently they are cleaned on a two year rotational basis. They were telling me that they normally do that sort of work over the winter when the house is shut, but from December the house will be open all year round. I don't know if this is all National Trust properties or just some, but it's news I certainly welcome. Not so nice driving back home in the dark after the clocks went back today.
