Lower Shibden Hall

The origional building is mentioned as far back as 1280, it was then known as Upper Shibden Hall The building was rebuilt or encased in stone in 1626 and the letters JSF, and that year were about the fireplace.  Sir Thomas Browne is supposed to have resided here, and wrote his book 'Religio Medici' while doing so. In the 1890's it was said that the building was pulled down and replaced with two new cottages. 
this is now going to be restored in the near future i will looking out for the results
