Birthday Rose Bud

After several weeks of downtime (caused by heavy rain shortly after my receiving it, among other factors, in which the original array of buds did not open), following a mild spell of weather my birthday rose is showing new buds. What I do not understand is that the breaking bud is decidedly salmon pink instead of creamy-white.

We now have cold nights and I fear they may never open fully to show what colour it actually is.
