Sunlight sparkle
We had a very good meal last night at the Dun Cow.
Mr C and I had a very tasty fish pie, and G & J had a spicy pigeon breast stew.
We were all too full to have any " afters".
Only one problem, walking there and back in the dark. We had forgotten just how dark it is with no street lights, or house lights, but what wonderful stars.
Today we woke to lovely sunshine, and the wind had dropped.
After breakfast we went to Cromer.
Requested by G who wanted a walk on the pier.
Must say we all enjoyed it.
We found a nice coffee shop. The Art House Cafe.
Interesting crafts, and great coffee.
We had a look round the rest of the town, and J and I went into the church.
We were stunned by the light. There are some beautiful stained glass windows, but most of them have been replaced with clear glass as the original ones were destroyed in 1942 when the town was bombed.
We had a walk along the pier. Looked round the lifeboat station, and bought two crabs.
( see extra collage of Cromer)
Then on to Sheringham. Another old fashioned seaside town, and one where MrC and his brother stayed when they were children.
Back here, where we had crab sandwiches for lunch. Delicious.
Then after a rest we went down for a walk along the shingle beach, to once again watch the waves.
I walked back along the coast path, and round the Salthouse marshes, which is where I took this photo of the late afternoon sun's reflection on the marsh. It looks mono, but it isn't.
Back now for another rest before we head out to the Wiverton Bell Pub for " Wine & Dine for £10.99 ".
Monday is Slow Food night. Pies and Casseroles using fresh local produce.
I think we will then sleep well. ( In fact MrC is having a nod at this moment)
Once again many thanks for your kind comments and stars for yesterday.
