After a long day of, guess what, work, we went to La Trattoria for a meal having met in the Marriott where I was busy testing wifi and confirming the reservation of a room in the business centre for an important, to me, business meeting tomorrow . . . 'How many are coming, Sir?', the manager asks. 'Just me!' I respond, standing there in my shorts and double layered t shirts for the cold aircon. 'But I have ten people from around the world tuning in and I need quiet and a good connection.’ He looked unsure but let me do the test. Fingers crossed. The Marriot has a faster connection than the Sheraton and is a fifth of the price, by the way.

I've found a way around the Skype ban in Cairo . . . a professional membership of Zoom and it seems to work a treat, albeit with a premium! Ever onwards!

PS
Btw, this is the late Omar Sharif son's place.
