Dublin 1

Today was the earliest I’ve woken up on my birthday for years!  With flights booked to Dublin, we had the alarms set for 6am.

We managed to get checked into our room as soon as we arrived in Dublin. It felt like we’d been in the go all day but it was only 11am as we were checking in. We had showers before hitting the streets of Dublin.

We walked around the Temple Bar area for a while before getting lunch at the Pieman. We had to go with Beef and Guinness as one of the option.

We had booked the Guinness tour this afternoon, and it was really good. Enjoyed the sample we got, then we poured our own and decided we didn’t really like the full pint.

Back to the city centre tonight for dinner at Mexico to Rome.  Good value food, unlike the drinks in the Temple Bar... €17.50 for two vodkas with mixer (£15.50).  We stayed for one before heading back to the hotel.
