Cashless Caff
From tomorrow this café will only accept cards - no cash. That's a new one on me. And the one two doors along has a sign saying Cash only - No Cards. All very contrary. But the carrot cake here is excellent. I must remember to have my card with me next time I call by. That cake is Vegan apparently although you would never know from the taste. Mind you, in what way would a vegan cake taste different? Or perhaps the point is that it doesnt. Anyway, enough of that rambling...
Later I had a good chat with an Orthodox jewish chap on the canal towpath. We exchanged views on religion and I explained that I might be a catholic or possibly CofE - not sure (its a long story). I asked him about the big fur hats they sometimes wear and whether he sets a spare place at the table on Friday nights. He was curious to know how I was aware of all this and I explained that one of my best friends is Jewish and keeps me informed.
The extra shows him lingering on a bridge. He wasn't keen to have his close-up portrait taken. Fair enough and I didnt. Shame though because their clothing is fascinating and would make a great shot.
