Lantern Festival

I tried to post yesterday evening but my comment did a vanashing trick and as we were meeting a friend for dinner I was forced to abandon my efforts. 

This weekend sees the start of the Annual Festival of Lanters or Yi Peng, the Thai name being Loy Krathong and the streets are festooned with colourful lanterns which light up in the evening.   Last year all the lanterns were white.  The event begins on Friday as its a full moon.
