Scoots, Shoots & Leaves

Morning Moon

Liza and I went scooting a little earlier than usual today. Caught this waning moon framed by autumn colors. I thought it looked lovely with the deep blue sky.

Yes, still clear skies for at least another week, and still in the 70s and even 80s (~22 C). It does cool down at night now. But I'm still longing for some rain -- some variety would be nice!

I will stop complaining now. I know some of you are under deluge and probably can't believe I'm dissatisfied with our weather. But I'm used to rain and I love it and I miss it!

Here's what we used to joke about:

A newcomer to Portland arrives on a rainy day. She gets up the next day and it's raining. It also rains the day after that, and the day after that. She goes outside and sees her neighbor boy and, out of despair, asks, ''Hey, Jimmy, does it ever stop raining around here?'' Jimmy says, ''I don't know, I'm only 8."
