Fog in the park and Christmas cake
It's been quite a beautiful day but this morning was foggy. I set the alarm for early but, blippers, I have to admit that when it came to it I couldn't roll out of bed :( However, an hour later I did, when the fog was still thick enough to be fun and it wasn't so dark.
I know I've said this before, but I love the disconnect that fog creates in an image. The pedestrian and trees are just cobbled together by the leaves on the path, but the cricket pavilion, the railings, the houses have all disappeared. I like this oddness.
This afternoon was my old gent's monthly outing, so we spent the afternoon with some lovely people. He has now presented me with a Christmas cake he made - wait for it - six years ago. He wants me to marzipan and ice it and give it to the Baptist Church for their Christmas old folks jamboree. Will the OFs all land up with food poisoning?
Seriously, some advice would be welcome. He has apparently fed it with brandy every Christmas since made and I can see not a smidge of mould on it, but the fat in it does smell a tad rancid. I will of course taste it before icing, but should I just tell him to throw it away??
Have a good evening, dear peeps xx
