My enemy

I have been preparing the ground in our front garden under shrubs, hoping to get lots of bulbs planted.
But the ground is riddled with ground elder roots, so it was a tough job getting as many out as I could! The soil is mainly clay in this area, which didn’t help!
So here are a few of these pesky roots!!
