Clerk of Works...

When the landscape gardeners started work a couple of weeks ago Lola was not very happy.

They fired up the chainsaw and she went nuts.  Barking and diving at the windows then retreating.  She was not a happy girl.

Knowing the work was going to last at least three weeks, and joining the chainsaw would be an earth mover, digger, soil compactor to name a few of the heavy duty tools, we had to get her acclimatised and accepting of the noise.  

Well I think we've done a good job.  She now either sleeps through the noise (she was still asleep when they started work at 8.00am) or sits at the window watching them with a very beady eye.  I hope this will stand her in good stead as bonfire night approaches.  Not sure how she will react to fireworks but have stocked up on calming remedies, just incase she gets stressed.

Alan was swimming again today and had a fab time.  Even though he's hyper when he's in the pool, he's always relaxed once he's out.  Hardly surprising given how warm the water is.

After a being a a wee star yesterday, Lola has been a naughty pup today, doing everything she's not supposed to; chewing furniture, jumping up, lying on the wrong end of the sofa, mooching food, to name a few.  Then a little while ago she came over and put her head and a paw on my knee and wanted up for a cuddle.  How could I resist?  :-))  

As a result it's almost midnight and I'm just getting to upload my blip.  Worth it though :D
