Broadway Tower

Today, as we drove through the Cotswolds (glorious in its autumn colours), we took a break to visit Broadway Tower. It's a folly built in 1800, and from the top you can look across to see 13 different counties! It was a bit hazy, but the views were still impressive. On one floor, there are round windows - this one looked out over the feeding deer. Before leaving, we enjoyed coffee and scones in the restaurant. Beats motorway service stations for breaking a journey, and made the day an outing as well as simply travelling.

We've now arrived at our rented log cabin near Rutland Water to be joined by the family for a get-together over the weekend. Have back-blipped my yesterblip. The signal last night was too weak to do so. If you like Somerset landscapes and setting suns, do take a peek!
