40th Birthday!

No, it wasn't my 40th although it's very kind of you to think it might have been!
It was our son, Daniel, who celebrated his 40th birthday today. There is a lady who lives locally who produces the most amazing cakes and has done a few for us including Johanna and Lukes wedding cake and some birthday cakes for special occasions. 
This one she did as a roll of film with photographs supplied by us starting with one of his early ones, through his young years spent in Jeddah and Riyadh, grammar school, teenage years, marriage and family. A wonderful cake and the cake itself is very good which isn't always the case with fancy cakes.

This evenings trip to a very good, and popular, Chinese restaurant was a surprise. Daniel thought we were cooking something at home, or maybe getting a take-away, that is until Johanna said "I'm so hungry, really looking forward to the all you can eat Chinese tonight", then froze wide eyed when she realised what she'd said and Daniel was in the room! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA We didn't let her forget it all night but the cake was a very well kept secret. He was quite thrilled with it when it was revealed.
