First batch of next year’s pickled onions
The usual Friday but good for all that. Picking was not a usual activity for a Friday but they needed to be done. The first batch of two or three which should keep us in onions for the next 12 months. Only two onions left now from last year!
Gym after that with a swim for me before a few weights and cycling afterwards. We carried on to Homebase from the gym to collect some door furniture and a heater for the studio.
I spent a happy couple of hours completing what should have been a simple replacement door handle. The handle plate was too big so fouling the door frame resulting in a bit of jiggling about to get the door to close and lock.
I called in at the allotment to dig parsnips, beetroots and carrots and called in at one of the plot holders who had rescued a rake head and mattock head from the ashes of our shed. Good to get the rake head back as it belonged to Susan’s dad who died in 1979. It would have been sad to have lost that link.
