Sgt. George Challinor. 2220400. R.A.F.V.R.

Mine and NatureWatcher's Uncle George, was a Mid-Upper Gunner, in Lancasters with 166 Squadron, based at Kirmington, in WW2.
  
Returning from a bombing raid on Bochum, their 'plane, badly shot up and engines on fire, crashed near to their base and George was seriously injured.
            I saw this poem and dedicate it to all servicemen and women, that paid the ultimate price.
