The Old Forge (Friday 3rd November 2017)
Friday is Gardening Friday and as half term is over it was the first visit from R. since 13th October (although I had visited her for coffee in the interim) and she had a lot to do. While she was busy with plant plugs, bulbs, potted plants, leaves and topsoil I was in the car port attempting to assemble a flat-packed shelf unit for the potting shed (formerly coal shed).
Inevitably it was more complicated than the flimsy instructions would lead you to believe, and there was a packet of screws missing, so, with a break for lunch, and a degree of improvisation, it was dark before I'd completed the assembly, emptied the potting shed, positioned the shelf and filled it with pots.

Lost Horizons - The Places We've Been (2017)
Lost Horizons is the new band formed by Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins) and Richie Thomas (Dif Juz) with different female and male singers as guests. Karen Peris (The Innocence Mission) sings on this first track entitled The Places We've Been. - Francis Broka, You Tube
This album was the featured 6 Music Album Of The Day. Two tracks featured on Steve Lamacq's Roundtable with guests from The Archers reviewing the records (actors playing Kirsty Miller, Ed Grundy and Lily Pargetter). I wanted to feature the track Bones with guest singer Beth Cannon, played earlier in the day, but that isn't yet up on You Tube, but I was very pleased to be reunited with the voice of Keren Peris having bought Innocence Mission records from 1990 onwards.
