Rain today was much needed, but it made our almond tree look rather bedraggled. The leaves are hanging on for the time being, but it won't be long before they drop.
The rain has eased off now, and the fireworks have started round about. I have memories of when we used to buy a box of fireworks for our own little display in the garden, the rocket in the milk bottle, the Catherine wheel nailed to the post, and reluctant to spin.
