October Evening Alfresco
October in Bellingham, and still warm enough to sit outside for an early evening drink and meal at the Bayou Oyster Bar. I ordered a pint of Kulshan IPA, a halibut taco, and the baked oyster combo -- two Oysters Rockefeller, and two Oysters Gabrielle. They didn't have any halibut, so I settled for the salmon taco, thus duplicating Cynthia's choices, except for the drink. She had a fancy cocktail.
The meal was excellent, and very reasonably priced (it was Happy Hour), though the service was rather slow. We finished our meal just as the sun slipped below the buildings on Holly Street and the temperature dropped below comfort level for sitting outside.
For dessert at home, we had some chocolate from Chocolate Necessities, with a nightcap of Deschutes 2009 The Abyss -- an award-winning imperial stout.
See Cynthia's blip for her take on the evening, with food photos -- as always.
