Our lovely neighbour...

...Betty.

We've been living in our house since February and have owned it for two years. Over this time we've got to know Betty a little through conversations on the drive and in the garden. I'd only set foot in her house briefly up until today but we were invited around for drinks and nibbles this weekend and to meet a few of her friends and other people in our street.

She really is a wonderful lady and we couldn't wish for a nicer person next door, she's no spring chicken but she is incredibly lively and full of character. We had a good chat for three hours and enjoyed getting to know the in and outs of our neighborhood and most importantly the gossip on the street. 

Betty was a great host putting on lots of food and she was quick to ply us with alcohol at 11:30 in the morning.

Her Grandson is studying animation so we talked a little bit about that amongst travel and all of our backgrounds. I do like good stories and Betty certainly is a good teller, I genuinely could listen to her for hours as she's lived quite a life.
