SHADOW BOXING

I was amazed to see a couple of these red darters still out and about, clinging to sunny spots at RSPB Saltholme. This one was having an argument with a large fly. I think each was too big to be prey for the other, so perhaps it was territorial in some way. Anyway, there was lots of leg and tail waving - probably using up precious energy on a chilly day like today.
