Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Cold!

We knew it was to be another fine day, so we decided to go to the beach. Archie was going out in the afternoon with Elizabeth, so we could only go for an hour or so.

By the time the gym was visited, and we got organised, time was marching on. Of course, annoyingly, the Park is closed on a Sunday, so no quick drive. And another road was closed, making the route to the beach much longer than was practicable, given our time constraints.

So we went up the Hill instead. Gill, although she's visited Edinburgh several times, has never been up there. The obligatory photo was taken, with Archie still gazing at Gill. We met a new wee schnauzer, Reggie. What a grand day for a visit, we could see for miles. Though it was rather cold!

JR and Gill walked through the Hermitage and then to Morningside, while Archie and I came home to await his favourite person.

After he'd gone out, the others suggested I meet them for lunch, but I decided to get the fire on and relax with my Kindle and my half panini from yesterday’s lunch. A much better idea. And I finished my book.

So everyone had a great day, especially Archie - two big walks!
