London adventures
I promised the boys an adventure this morning - we've been up to London as I needed to go to where I used to work (and will be doing some part-time work). I didn't really bank on quite the adventure that we had.
We had a great journey down - one lady gave up her seat for us and her friend spent an hour with the eldest on her lap and I kind of thought I was nailing this travelling with two children thing.
We had a pretty good time seeing plenty of people I used to work with, the youngest wondered into lots of offices (strangely the ones where people were eating lunch). So when we headed back to Kings Cross, I was on the home straight. Except we missed the train by 5 minutes, got on the next train (after a 30 minutes wait), only for there to be an 'incident' and all trains out of Kings Cross were cancelled. So we've come home via Nottingham, and got in the door about four hours later than we should have.
The picture is of the boys at Nottingham station, I love it, even though it's past bed-time and dinner has been some breadsticks and an apple, they're happily playing and smiling away. I've come home shattered, but on a high at just how delightful people are, I've had so much help on and off trains, people helping the boys on and off trains and taking their hand as we walked down platforms.
The extra picture is of the youngest at lunch time, it was such a lovely day we sat in the sunshine and had our sandwiches.
