Melbourne Cup

The Melbourne Cup starts at 3pm on the first Tuesday in November and is known locally as "the race that stops a nation".  Even schools cut the day short as staff and students watch the race.  

Today I enjoyed the company of a delightful group of ladies at a Melbourne Cup lunch across the road at the golf club.
