Get the hanky out, Dickie!

At the Association of Cricket Officials annual conference at Lord's today, where Dickie Bird was interviewed by Sir Michael Parkinson and then was awarded an honoury life membership of the ACO. And a standing ovation.

At the end of the day the closing address waqs interrupted by a flunky with the message "Dickie is leaving and wants to say goodbye" - cue further ovation.

Shame the Blackberry wasn't quite up to the job today.
