A well-earned supper

Left before 9am, home 11.30pm... relatively painless office day, though no sales (some in the pipeline) and not enough appointments :/ - then 8pm with customer never previously met... and several friends / family... 66 bottles and £1300 later I left with a smile on my face - I tend to be self-critical and self-deprecating, but tonight as I drove home, I felt that rare warm glow when you feel you've done something well, like you were the best person for the job, etc. Only spoken to the host on the phone, but he kept saying how much he liked my laid back, non pushy style - ready to advise and suggest, but not forcing anything - he said it was important to him that when he'd rejected me on previous calls about possible visits or sales I'd just said "that's fine, don't worry, I'll be in touch" (which of course I get criticised for...). He said "I would never have invited my friends round if I thought it would be a pushy sales pitch". Also felt like there was someone 'up there' just saying "it's OK, we've got this". My drive home should have been on A47 not A46! Camembert supplied by host ("we don't really eat it, please, take it").
