Autumn walks

Working till 9pm on Mondays so I get to have a late start.
There was drama in the afternoon. Just as I was travelling across Durham from one location to another, the police cordoned off the main thoroughfare and everyone was evacuated from the buildings on New Elvet. Apparently someone had handed in vintage explosives to Durham police station and the army was on its way to safely detonate them. This brought Durham to a complete standstill and what should have been a trip of a couple of minutes, took at least an hour. Thankfully I had set off earlier than usual.
