Aurora Borealis over Bassenthwaite Lake

After a fabulous day at Crummock water, we settled down to our assessment session after dinner, and I got a text from a good friend suggesting I checked the skies for the northern lights. We finished the session, then at 10.45, piled into the landrover and headed to Bassenthwaite Lake where we were treated to one of the better Aurora displays I've seen.
