Autumn leaves

It rained most of last night and this morning it was damp and dull - still, the autumn leaves look wonderful in the diffused light and there is a good range of colour now.

A boring day - had to stay in to wait for the plumber - there are a few snag items outstanding from when we bought the house and it has taken this long to get them sorted. We never got a handover pack from the developers so it took weeks to track down who the plumber was who originally did the installations in this house - when we finally tracked him down it took weeks to get him to come see us, and then weeks to get our quote - which we never actually got, so we forgot about him and found another plumber. Honestly, don't these people want to work or get any business? Thank goodness for the European immigrant workers in the building industry, at least they actually want to work and they do a fine job too - can we get some plumbers from Poland now?

Then I phoned around trying to find competitive rates for a boiler service contract - we may go with British Gas who we used at the other house, even though they do not do underfloor heating, so it will mean two different contractors for boilers and heating.
