Deer in a frosty field

The weather has definitely changed. There is a frost almost every morning. There is an old saying that the date of the first snow determines how many snows there will be for the winter. Our first snow was on the 7th, so I'm hoping that means we'll only have 7 snows. Also the woolly caterpillars have a lot of brown color,which is also supposed to foretell a mild winter. Time will tell.
