Help needed!

I was photographing this bird, creeping closer and closer when I pressed the shutter and a white flash appeared before my eyes and the camera froze!
No power, shutter jammed and all I can see in front of my eyes is the word EXPENSIVE.

I have borrowed another camera for the moment.....
