Hard Walking in the Snow

..... but above the murk in the valley, it was very worthwhile. Flurries of snow, constantly changing cloud patterns and no one else on the "path". Looking back down you can see the end of the Croix de Chaux in the cloud window. I had almost returned down and spotted the little herd of chamois (in extra photos) on the other side of the river, the youngest ones were definitely struggling a bit, and two of them were lying down, letting their mums feed in peace. Only the fittest will survive and winter seems to have started early this year. However, a warm front, and all that can change everything back to autumn.
