Camera Club Speaker
Really not with it today. Mind was elsewhere and I was not very productive.
Went to Grimsby Photographic Society tonight. I joined a few weeks ago and am really enjoying it. The speaker was a retired the photo-journalist, Ray Corke who has been taking photographs since he was 12 years old. He worked in London in the swinging sixties where he photographed many of the artists of the day including the Beatles, Tom Jones, Cilla Black and loads more. He then moved and took a job on the Grimsby Evening Telegraph, where he stayed for over forty years. He showed us some fantastic photographs he had taken that really capture the time and told us lots of anecdotes making it a really interesting couple of hours.
This was the first time Ray has ever spoken about his work to a camera club. I am hoping that it won't be the last time we get to seek into this photographic collection, I could have looked at his work for hours.
I felt a little self conscious asking him if I could take a pic for my blip, he had already confessed to preferring be on the working side of the camera.
