Flax flower with tui feeding
I was all set to put on a flower I had blipped this morning when in flew the tuis to the flax right in front of the window. Camera was ready, I went steady and 105 photos later they left. This was one of the first ones I took on the P setting. They stayed so long I was able to change settings and try other things.I think they stayed because their tui tea jar at the back was empty.
Their long tongue goes down into the flax flower and they get covered in orange pollen. Always a thrill to see them.
One extra for now showing how they hang on to the flax branch.
