If the walls could talk...

Building 50 in Traverse City, Michigan—once part of the Traverse City State Hospital, a residential psychiatric facility. It was originally known as the Northern Michigan Asylum, established in 1881. Fully shut down by 1989, Building 50 is now restored, and houses restaurants, retail shops and, on the upper floors, privately owned condominiums. Despite the total renovation, one cannot help but sense Building 50’s history as one passes through it’s corridors.
