We had a great day today. We attended the Paris Photo 2017 at the Grand Palais. At one o'clock was the announcement of the winners of "Le Prix du Livre Paris Photo -Aperture Foundation." There were three categories: Book of the Year, Photographic Catalog of the Year and First Book with a prize of $10,000. There were 20 entries out of 1000 submissions in the last category and Riitta and Karoline's book was one of them. it was an amazing honor to be in that group and their book will be in an exhibition that will be traveling around the world. While they were not the winners of the category, their book was a first class entry. The winner was a photo journalistic book about Monsanto. Riitta and Karoline's book had a fine art focus and was very positive in its outlook. To me it stood out and was worthy of special mention.

The six in our party spent lots of time exploring the many exhibits and we split into smaller groups Janet and I stayed together and after we left the show we explored the area. The sun had come out and the light was magical.
